My name is Martie Elle, and I’d like to welcome you to my blog! It’s a wild party, with stories and photos of my garden, references for stationary and planners, book reviews, recipes and fermentation guides, and sometimes, when we’re all feeling especially crazy, posts about interesting places to visit in Southern Ontario (antiquing!).
If picking the types of veggies you’ll be growing this spring is your idea of a fun time, then stick around – I think we may have a few things in common!
When I’m not tending my garden – which is sadly a big chunk of the year, thanks to Toronto’s weather – I’m busy with my career in Information Studies, working on a personal project or two (I love things like Inktober and NaNoWriMo!), or reading. I also love taking road-trips with my high school sweetheart, Robert, where we often play Who Can Find the Worst Thing at the Antique Store. I love animals of all sorts, though currently only give my attention to my cat – who I adopted in 2000 as a small short-haired demon, and who has since turned into a regal long-haired(!) diva.
I’ve been blogging for about half my life (15 years!), and grew up as the internet unfolded. Lucky for me, pseudonyms and screen-names were more common when I was a teen, and my early contributions have disappeared somewhere into the depth of LiveJournal’s servers!
My previous website (to share my photography), went on hiatus while I was working on my Master’s degree, and I never really got back to it after graduating – social media made me lazy! It’s so much easier to pop an image on Instagram! I’ve found, though, that I miss having my own corner of the internet!
Thanks again for visiting!
